DIFFERENCES FROM NATURAL ICE CAVES

Our ice tunnel is a unique structure inside a real glacier. It’s the only one of its kind in Iceland. Engineers designed it, and specialists maintain it regularly to this day.

Natural ice caves, like those at Breiðamerkurjökull, are beautiful and ever-changing, but they aren’t managed or maintained. This means some natural factors can be unpredictable and beyond control.

Unlike natural caves, Langjokull Ice Tunnel remains accessible and reliable at any time of the year. Seasonal changes, including summer climate, do not affect its stability. No ice has ever fallen from the ceiling or walls of our tunnel. The interior is not affected by changes in the weather. It’s a reliable and safe choice for everyone, including families and children.
